Welcome to my Blog all about Petunia

Petunia is my 1962 Vintage Kencraft travel trailer, I bought about 1 year ago. I am absolutely head over heals in love with this little gem and I have become obsessed with all things "Vintage". When I bought her, I had no idea that vintage trailers were all the rage at the moment and neither did the people I bought her from. I felt like I had won the lottery. I immediately embarked on a journey to find out any and all information about restoring them and now find myself in the exclusive club that is Vintage trailer owners. I can't wait to share with you my adventures in her and all the treasures I have found to decorate and bling her out and fix her up. I know she needs a paint job desperately (not to mention a few additional things) and I am working out exterior paint design and colors. The tan stripe is not original. I've scrapped some of the paint off and it appears that the original might have been yellow. Not sure if I will go back to that, or paint it pink.. I promised my husband that I wouldn't make her too "girly" but sadly..it's happening. I just can't help myself. So welcome to my blog. I am new to this whole blogging world, so please bear with me. I'm learning as I go. I welcome feedback and input for sure. I look forward to meeting you and making many new blogging, vintage trailer, friends. - Happy Glamping!

  3. Hi Miki...thanks so much for the note. I love my little Petunia and Kencraft trailers are really fun. I love having the permanent bed in back and we are working on fixing the tiny little bathroom. Ours looks bigger in photos, but she is only about 14', 16' with the tongue. I would live to see photos of your trailer..even not fixed up..and don't forget to give it a name...have you figured out if its a boy or girl yet?

  4. Her name is Trashy Tassy, the guy literally shoveled trash and garbage out of her so we could step in and look. I didnt see an email address on your page and I'm not sure how to send pics. She has an aqua and white princess stove and the original brass fire extinguisher I think she is 12 or 13' long. Don't have a blog but I'm considering it, would love to find other ken craft owners.....I love her:)

  5. Got a 'bro down here in San Diego, a 1968. From your photo's it's identical except at the rear, the toilet closet angels out making the interior larger but leaving less space for the bed. Mine is a couch that folds out but when open you can barely squeeze into the bathroom so I removed the original cushions and placed a 34" foam mattress there, big enough for one and you can still access the bathroom. This trailer is not "restored", it is all original and in amazing condition for a 44 year old trailer. Would love to get some info on this, any sites or links to recommend ?

  6. Love the pictures! I have a 1958 Kencraft that I have started cleaning up after sitting on the family ranch for the last 40 years. There aren't very many that I can find out there to see pics, so this was a nice surprise.
